Mobile Phone a Viable Option for Photography
Don’t judge me; I used to be one among many photographers who don’t believe that mobile phones can be used to make pictures.
And why not, I was groomed from the popular social media that DSLRs are with much better quality that the small sensors can never match the quality and sharpness of their big brothers. I also know that this is true to a large extent having shot with both cameras.
But then I stumbled upon ipoxstudios Canon of Design concepts of composition and how to improve my photography and started thinking a out my mobile phone as a viable option.
The other reason which pushed me to take out my cell phone was the number of restrictions at various locations in Delhi, say a monument, Metro etc. in the name of security. In Jama Masjid for example you cannot take a camera, If you do then you’ll have to pay a fee, tripods are a strict no-no at some of the monuments in Delhi. In PVR cinemas I cannot even take my film camera.
These two reasons gave my photography a new lease of life in restricted places.
But then I can take my by mobile phone to such places and has become one of the best camera to carry.
I don’t carry a super expensive phone though. My phone is super cheap LeTV Eco which I guess is is discontinued by the Chinese manufacturer. The phone has a decent camera which is good enough for taking pictures. I guess I soon have to invest in a good phone with a great camera. So I am starting a series on mobile phone photography. Hopefully with regular practice I might take some decent pleasing pictures on my phone.
Here are the pictures I made in the Metro. The first one I din’t like. I have not included the design principles currently I am learning them. But I am Glad I am out of Rule of Thirds BS.
I have just started learning the Canon of Design Principles and I am hoping to improve upon my Photography.
