New Year Rant and Plan for the Coming Weeks
Happy 2013 to all of you, I welcome you into the new year. I know I am 15 days too late to say this but you see the last couple of weeks were really chilly, they are saying that this season is the coldest season in Delhi in the last 20 years (I don’t believe it! I feel the same chill every year). Along with the chill, I was extremely busy with a host of things. And these are the reasons for my delay in posting on this blog.
Anyways, today’s post is just an update on what I have done in the past 15 days and whats in store for the next couple of weeks.
Visit to the CEIF 2013
I visited the Consumer Electronics and Imaging Fair (CEIF) held between 3rd to 6th of January in Delhi. It was a dampener with no participation from the big guns like Canon and Nikon but I was happy that the stuff that I wanted for a long time was available on the cheap. I’ve purchased some continuous light source for my video production with some soft boxes, mounts and clamps. I also saw the Zeiss Lenses for the first time at CEIF, held them, observed them, took pictures of them and finally used them on my Canon EoS 60D and I am totally in love with them. The price is the only thing that is stopping me from buying one of those gems. I know I am gonna buy the Distagon 15mm very soon.
Subscribed to Asian Photography magazine, I am bored with the Better Photography magazine reading it for the last 2 years. I hope Asian Photography magazine brings some new insights to my photography. The switch happened when I purchased Asian Photography magazine for Rs. 10 each for the past editions. This price was a steal. I purchased 22 of them at Rs. 200 A total savings of Rs 2000. I’d read some of them in the night, liked them and so I was there to get the subscription on the last day of CEIF.
I had set a goal of getting at least 20 videos this year. I know this a very conservative number but I also know that it takes huge amounts of time to get a video done, especially if you are a one man show and yet to make a proper workflow for video production. I have also got a Zoom H1 Handy Audio Recorder. In the next couple of weeks I am planning to produce a video with minimal setup. I’ll be shooting a review or something (no content yet!).
I wrote a post for That Nikon Guy on January 10th, in the viewer’s gear section of the website. However, it ‘s yet to be published. It’s been 5 days that I have submitted it. Now, I am afraid the post won’t see the light of the internet. I am planning to wait for next couple of weeks for it to get published. If not then I’ll publish it here for the benefit of F Stop Diary Blog readers.
I’ll be writing my next chapter on my Free Basics of Photography Course. It’s about time I complete it.
I have geared up my marketing efforts for my wedding photography business and I shall be discussing some of them.
It is high time that I do a self portrait. I know I am a Noob in front of the camera, but F Stop Diary need some more of my pictures and hence I’ll be shooting some of my self portraits.
I am in the process of creating a resource page for the F Stop Diary Blog and also working on a design of logo for this site.
I think that this too much for this week and hope I’ll be able to accomplish at least some of the tasks.
