2013 Goals for my Photography
World is not going to end! contrary to the opinions of the the experts. we all will move in 2013 safe and sound. So I figured I should write down goals for 2013 for my Photography.
Without further ado here are the goals for 2013 for photography.
Goal: Complete the Lighting 102 strobist course
I am loving the effects that controlling light provides in the images I create. While the natural lighting is good but I believe the artificial continuous and strobe lighting provides an extra punch to the images. I plan to complete this course in the coming weeks of 2013. For those who are not aware the course is available free of cost on strobist.com
Goal: Complete my first e-book on the Basics of Photography Course
As many of you would be aware that I am writing a free course on Basics of Photography. I plan to convert these blog posts into a e-book format. Right now I am thinking of a Adobe .pdf and Kindle edition. This e-book will be freely available on my website.
Goal: Making at least 20 Photography related videos
I have realized that explaining photography through videos is a better medium than writing/showing image setups. Though I am a beginner in video making, I plan to make at least 20 video in the coming year covering reviews, tutorials, lighting and BTS videos etc. In the process I’ll improve my video making skills as well.
Goal: Strobist Gel Kit for Sale
As you read in my “building a strobist kit on a budget, it’s difficult to get it in India. I am planning to make a Strobist Gel kit by the mid of next year. The Gel kit will be a pack of around 20 gels with Speed Trap. This Strobist Gel pack will be available across India through F Stop Diary blog.
Goal: Make a reference catalogue for portrait related work
For a better portrait work, I feel the need a reference catalogue. It will consist of different poses with approximate lighting diagrams. I’m planning to make my own lighting setups to improve upon my photography.
I have certain task to finish off which are miscellaneous in nature. I thought why not put it here so that I can follow my progress on the same.
Make DIY props for portraits.
Organize my photos in a better way.
Design a logo for my website.
Learn more about Photoshop actions.
Enter at least 5 competition and win at least 1 (far fetched but worth putting it here).
Visit contemporary art exhibitions to improve my composition skills.
Create a wishlist for my gear.
I’ll be putting up updates and progress on my goals in the future. I hope this helps other photographers to set their goals for their own photography. Please do share them with me through comments or track back post.
Wishing you guys and girls a very Happy New Year!
